Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall

Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven in period instruments

On the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the official opening of Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall, a rare performance was screened online.

Megaron took a new innovative step, by presenting for the 1^st time in Greece a classical music concert streaming in 360° video, thus offering the public yet another unique audiovisual experience.

Beethoven’s crowning symphonic work is interpreted by the award-winning Musicians of Camerata – The Friends of Music Orchestra, well-known in Greece and abroad for their historical interpretation practices, under the musical direction of internationally acclaimed conductor George Petrou.

“Peaux” from the work Pleiades by Iannis Xenakis

As part of the celebrations of the World Music Day, a unique performance was held in Delos, the birthplace of Apollo, the god of music.

The concert was filmed in front of the iconic lions of Delos, symbolizing the deep connection between ancient myths, art and human creativity for the protection of life on the planet.

It is worth noting that this is the 1^st time that a work by the pioneering composer is being presented in Delos. The twelve-minute piece is performed by the internationally acclaimed Greek percussion soloist Dimitris Desyllas and the ensemble “TYΠANA”.

“Good night, I love you” exhibition

On the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of Maria Callas’ birth, this exhibition tries to highlight the personality of the great diva both on and off the stage. It is based on her personal memorabilia, dresses and costumes, such as a sample costume made by Yannis Tsarouchis for the performance of the opera Medea at Epidaurus, and by four models of Lila de Nobili’s costumes for the performance of La Traviata at La Scala in Milan.
