Within the framework of the Black Sea React! project, the Regional Essay Competition for the Youth “Saving our Sea: new ways to reduce marine pollution in the Black Sea”, a BSEC PERMIS and ICBSS initiative, was launched in the period May-September 2021. It aimed to raise awareness and motivate young people in the BSEC Member States to take action against the growing marine pollution challenge in the Black Sea. The present collective edition includes the top ten essays of the Regional Essay Competition for the Youth. The essays were submitted by high-school students aged 15 to 18 years, citizens of the 13 BSEC Member States.

The 11th Annual Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe will take place on 5-7 October 2022 in Chania (Crete), Greece. The 2022 Advisory Forum is organised by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, in cooperation with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Chania, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of Chania, and the Historic Cafes Route.

Save the Date for the 1st edition of the High-Tech Summit for the Black Sea (HTS4BS) which will take place in Varna (Bulgaria) on 27 and 28 September 2022. Under the umbrella of the H2020 funded BRIDGES BS, the Blue Economy High Tech 4 Black Sea is a large research-based Black Sea forum on ocean digitalization and Industry 4.0 across academia, research organizations, investors, industry and society at large.

The video has been created within the "Black Sea React! Project – Pilot innovative solutions for fighting marine litter in the Black Sea", which aims to contribute to regional dialogue on mitigating and effectively tackling marine pollution and marine litter in the Black Sea, while at the same time seeking innovative solutions to relevant problems. The project is co-funded by the European Commission under Grant Contract ENI/2020/421-957.

The event was held in a hybrid way on Monday 27 June 2022, in Amalia Athens Hotel, Athens-Greece.

The Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) of Azerbaijan and the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) co-organise a Round-table Discussion on “Energy security in Europe: Current situation, challenges and future opportunities”. Renowned energy experts and policy-stakeholders from the EU MS and Eastern Partnership countries will exchange views on the current situation and the future of energy security for the European countries, placing emphasis on the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC). The event will be held in English, in a hybrid format (Athens & online).

As part of the project’s activities, a survey was launched in the form of an online questionnaire which aimed to gather direct input about the priorities, opportunities and challenges from all involved stakeholders in the sectors of culture and tourism. The questionnaire ran online from 1 December 2021 until 31 January 2022.

In view of the latest developments in the Black Sea region, and following the request of the Donor (European Commission), the Final Conference on "Strengthening the project implementation capacity, dialogue and cooperation in the Black Sea Region", in the framework of the Black Sea React!, Black Sea Cruise and CulTourE4Youth projects, scheduled for 15 March 2022, in a hybrid way, in Istanbul-Turkey, has been postponed.
