Let’s explore the autumn side of the Black Sea!
“Autumn on the Black Sea” is a painting by Evgeni Chuikov, which depicts a beautiful landscape on the Black Sea coast during autumn days.
Evgeni Chuikov is renowned for his vivid and joyous landscapes, which capture the essence of the four seasons in magnificent paintings. “Autumn on the Black Sea” is a typical example of his work, characterised by a fresh and bright palette as well as bold, confident brushstrokes.
Chuikov studied extensively under the landscape painter Georgi Kolosovski. Both of them were significantly influenced by the renowned French Impressionists. Additionally, Chuikov was influenced by Scottish colourists and American landscape painters.
In 1995, the painter was awarded the title of People’s Artist, the highest accolade for artists in Ukraine. Furthermore, he participated in various international exhibitions, including events in Finland, Poland, France and Canada.
