
Participation of ICBSS Director General at the 51st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States

On 19 December 2025, the Director General of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), Mr. Georgios Mitrakos, addressed the 51st Meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) of the BSEC Member States, held online.
During his statement, Mr. Mitrakos informed about the activities organised by the ICBSS under the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office, focusing on advancing impact-oriented outreach and engagement at both regional and international levels.
Aligned with the ICBSS’ objectives to enhance knowledge, enable synergies and empower people, Mr. Mitrakos noted that the future planned activities will focus on strengthening international outreach, scientific engagement, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.
The Meeting officially concludes the current Bulgarian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office for the period 1.7 – 31.12.2025 and initiates the transition to the upcoming Chairmanhsip by Georgia (1.1 – 30.6.2026).
Prior to the 51st Meeting of the CMFA, the ICBSS Driector General participated at the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials (CSO), held on 16 – 17 December 2025.
