ICBSS Participation at the online presentation of the publication “Women in Official and Public Diplomacy. Essays, Articles, Interviews”
31 March 2026
On 26 March 2026, ICBSS Research and Policy Development Manager, Ms. Georgia Chantzi, participated as speaker at the Opening Session of the online event for the presentation of the book “Women in Official and Public Diplomacy. Essays, Articles, Interviews”, co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Scientific Society for the History of Diplomacy and International Relations of Ukraine.
The publication, prepared under the coordination of Dr. Prof. Iryna Matiash, highlights the contributions of women to diplomatic practice, cultural dialogue, and advocacy. Supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, this publication brings together historical essays and contemporary perspectives. It introduces, for the first time, narratives about early female diplomats in countries such as Bulgaria and Poland, as well as women ambassadors working in Ukraine during the ongoing war.
The event gathered more than 70 participants, diplomats and senior policy officials, academicians and students in international relations, civil society representatives, and individuals interested in gender studies and diplomacy.
