Participation of ICBSS Director General at the Yerevan Dialogue 2026
7 May 2026
On 5 May 2026, ICBSS Director General, Mr. Georgios Mitrakos, participated at the Yerevan Dialogue 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
Since its launch in 2024, the Yerevan Dialogue forum has served as an inclusive international platform for policy-making and finding solutions to pressing regional and global challenges.
This year’s edition took place in Yerevan, on 5 – 6 May, under the theme ‘Riding Through the Storms’. The forum brought together government representatives, the private sector, NGOs, academia, youth, and experts with the aim to reflect on common challenges affecting Europe and its broader neighborhood, as well as wider global developments.
Discussions focused on increasing geopolitical divisions, mounting pressures on multilateral frameworks, environmental concerns, and the accelerating influence of advanced technologies. Particular emphasis was given on how shifting power dynamics are reshaping international relations, testing existing security frameworks while also creating new opportunities for dialogue and cooperation. Participants explored how stronger regional linkages, improved connectivity, and trade can contribute to stability and shared prosperity.
Panel discussions were centered around the following thematic pillars:
- Beyond Geopolitical Divides
- Global Connectivity
- EU Enlargement and European Integration
- Democratic Resilience, Hybrid Threats and AI
- Green Transition
- Tech and Security Architecture
The visit aligns with ICBSS objectives to promote dialogue, knowledge exchange and enable synergies to advance sustainability and development in the wider Black Sea region and beyond.
