Diversification of supply chains: EU cooperation in South Caucasus and Central Asia and the significance of the Black Sea region

A new paper with title "Diversification of supply chains: EU cooperation in South Caucasus and Central Asia and the significance of the Black Sea region" by ICBSS Director General, Mr. Georgios Mitrakos, was included in the recent collective report, titled "Building geoeconomic bridges: European Union - South Caucasus - Central Asia. Opportunities for Romania", published by the Institutul European din România - European Institute of Romania.
The paper argues that the diversification of supply routes and the emerging trend of nearshoring are a unique opportunity for the countries of the Black Sea, South Caucasus and Central Asia to leverage their geostrategic location and developing economies, to become important international logistics and nearshoring hubs.
This collective report continues the series of collaborative publications by the European Institute of Romania and is the fifth volume focused on regions of strategic interest for the European Union, following previous papers on the future of Europe, EU–African Union relations, the Three Seas Initiative, and the wider Black Sea area.
