Black Sea Women Paving the Way

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), this infographic commemorates 13 inspirational and pioneering women from the wider Black Sea region who excelled in their fields and broke the glass ceiling despite social constraints.
Although their contribution is not widely recognised, these groundbreaking women paved the way and left a lasting mark on sciences and arts, such as medicine, law, geology, theatre, opera and painting.
