Cinema – Romania

The ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival is one of the most important cultural events in Romania.

The festival has been held every year since 2004 in the small and picturesque town of Sfântu Gheorghe, situated at the last strip of land before the southern arm of the Danube flows into the sea.

For the purposes of the ANONIMUL Festival, an open-air cinema has been set up with the exacting image and sound standards of a cinema hall. It is situated right where the film-lovers camp, offering a unique experience to visitors. Furthermore, there are two additional cinema halls in the Green Village.

As for the ANONIMUL programme, it includes two short film competitions, one Romanian and one international, as well as feature film screenings, followed by meetings and dialogues between filmmakers and the audience.

The guest list is comprised of prominent figures from the film industry, including directors, actors and producers who have made their mark at major international film events, such as Cannes, Venice and Berlin.

In addition, the Delta event is followed each year by the ANONIMUL Retrospective, which takes place in Bucharest and attracts another large audience.
