Meeting of ICBSS and Ionian Center for the Arts and Culture (Athens, 31-1-2020)

On Thursday 31 January 2020, Ms. Athina Korovesi, ICBSS Communications and Public Relations Manager and Head of the Focal Point for Southern & Western Greece of the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network, had a meeting with Ms. Sophie Giannakis-Kagadis, Executive Director of the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture, at the ICBSS Hq, in Athens, in the framework of the collaboration of both member organizations within the Anna Lindh Foundation.

Representing the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) as the elected “Focal Point for Southern & Western Greece of the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network”, Ms. Korovesi informed Ms. Giannakis-Kagadis about the actions taken by the Head, Coordinator and Co-Head of the Greek National Network of the Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation during the period after the elections of the three Focal Points and Heads of the Network, held on September 2019.

Given the fact that the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture operates in a global environment for the understanding and advancement of the European, Mediterranean and Global Civilization, in addition to the development of a high-level curricula in collaboration with prominent foreign universities and their professors, Ms. Giannakis-Kagadis highlighted the importance of the promotion of the Center’s actions through the Anna Lindh Foundation.

As the Executive Director of the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture noted, the common audience of both Foundations, which are active in the wider Mediterranean region, is a reference point for the implementation of joint actions aiming to the promotion of the desired multicultural dialogue, with an emphasis in the fields of Higher  Education, Arts and Research. Specifically, Ms. Giannakis-Kagadis proposed the launch of a series of activities in collaboration with the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network, that can be implemented at the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture premises in Kefalonia, such as a painting exhibition with internationally recognized artists’ paintings, as the Ionion Center possesses both the know-how and the facilities for exhibiting and displaying the works of art.

Furthermore, Ms. Giannakis-Kagkadis noted that she looks forward to the active contribution and involvement of the Anna Lindh Network, in order the joint actions to have a real footprint in the Civil Society under the prism of the expansion and stabilization of a healthy educational and cultural environment addressed to the citizens.

Agreeing on the above proposals, Ms. Korovesi emphasized the significance of highlighting the activities of the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture to the direction of becoming well known to the public that wishes to participate at the offered high level academic programs. As she mentioned, the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network is a connecting link that could bring together the interested member organizations, as well as the individuals that follow its activities, with the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture and hence the Western Greece, and in particular the island of Kefalonia..

At this point, Ms. Korovesi also referred to the need of the promotion of the local communities’ efforts while generating high-level international activities based on their own efforts. In addition, she considered the existence of organizations that can provide consultancy to self-taught artists while supporting their work, as well as guidance through their academic programs, necessary.

In this framework, both parties explored opportunities for cooperation between the International Centre for Black Sea Studies and the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture, with a focus on the promotion of the cultural elements of the Mediterranean, the Balkans and the Black Sea countries and their artists.

Συνάντηση κας Αθηνάς Κοροβέση, Επικεφαλής του Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Ιδρύματος Αnna Lindh, με την κα Σοφία Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη, Εκτελεστική Διευθύντρια του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού

Την Πέμπτη 31 Ιανουαρίου 2020, η κα Αθηνά Κοροβέση, Υπεύθυνη Επικοινωνίας και Δημοσίων Σχέσεων του Διεθνούς Κέντρου Μελετών Ευξείνου Πόντου και Επικεφαλής του Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Ιδρύματος Αnna Lindh, συναντήθηκε με την κα Σοφία Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη, Εκτελεστική Διευθύντρια του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού με έδρα την Κεφαλονιά, στα γραφεία του ΔΙ.ΚΕ.Μ.Ε.Π. στην Αθήνα, στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας των δύο οργανισμών ως μέλη του Ιδρύματος Anna Lindh.

Εκπροσωπώντας το Διεθνές Κέντρο Μελετών Ευξείνου Πόντου ως το εκλεγμένο Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Iδρύματος Anna Lindh, η κα Κοροβέση ενημέρωσε την κα Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη για τις δράσεις των επικεφαλής, συντονιστή και συν-επικεφαλής του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Ευρω-Μεσογειακού Ιδρύματος Anna Lindh, για την περίοδο μετά τις εκλογές των τριών Focal Points των Επικεφαλής του Δικτύου, οι οποίες πραγματοποιήθηκαν τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2019.

Δεδομένης της δραστηριοποίησης του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού σε ένα διεθνές πλαίσιο που αφορά στον Ευρωπαϊκό, Μεσογειακό και Παγκόσμιο πολιτισμό, καθώς και της κατάρτισης υψηλού επιπέδου προγραμμάτων σπουδών σε συνεργασία με επιφανή πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού και των καθηγητών τους, η κα Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη υπογράμμισε τη σημασία ανάδειξης των δράσεων του Κέντρου μέσω του Ιδρύματος Αnna Lindh.

Όπως επεσήμανε η Εκτελεστική Διευθύντρια του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού, το κοινό ακροατήριο των δύο Ιδρυμάτων, τα οποία είναι ενεργά στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της Μεσογείου, αποτελεί σημείο αναφοράς για την υλοποίηση κοινών δράσεων με απώτερο στόχο την προώθηση του πολυπόθητου διαπολιτισμικού διαλόγου, με έμφαση στα πεδία των Τεχνών, των Επιστημών και της Έρευνας. Ειδικότερα, η κα Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη πρότεινε την δρομολόγηση μίας σειράς δράσεων σε συνεργασία με το Ελληνικό Δίκτυο του Ιδρύματος Anna Lindh, οι οποίες μπορούν να πραγματοποιηθούν στις εγκαταστάσεις του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού στην Κεφαλονιά, όπως μία έκθεση ζωγραφικής με έργα διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένων καλλιτεχνών, καθότι το Ιόνιο Κέντρο διαθέτει τόσο τεχνογνωσία όσο και εγκαταστάσεις για την έκθεση, προβολή και ανάδειξη καλλιτεχνικών έργων.

Εκτός αυτών, η κα Γιαννάκη-Καγκάδη σημείωσε πως προσβλέπει στην ενεργό συνεισφορά και συμμετοχή του Δικτύου Anna Lindh, ώστε οι κοινές δράσεις να έχουν ένα έμπρακτο αποτύπωμα στην Κοινωνία των Πολιτών, υπό το πρίσμα της διεύρυνσης και σταθεροποίησης ενός υγιούς εκπαιδευτικού και πολιτιστικού περιβάλλοντος με αποδέκτες τους πολίτες.

Συναινώντας ως προς τις ανωτέρω προτάσεις, η κα Κοροβέση τόνισε την σημαντικότητα ανάδειξης των δραστηριοτήτων του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού προς γνώση του ευρέως κοινού που επιθυμεί να λάβει μέρος σε ακαδημαϊκά προγράμματα των προδιαγραφών που αυτό προσφέρει. Όπως ανέφερε, το Ελληνικό Δίκτυο του Ιδρύματος Anna Lindh αποτελεί συνδετικό κρίκο που δύναται να φέρει σε επαφή ενδιαφερόμενους φορείς-μέλη του, όπως και ιδιώτες που παρακολουθούν τις δράσεις του, με το Ιόνιο Κέντρο και κατά συνέπεια με τη Δυτική Ελλάδα, και δη το νησί της Κεφαλονιάς.

Σε αυτό το σημείο, η κα Κοροβέση αναφέρθηκε επίσης στην ανάγκη ανάδειξης των προσπαθειών των τοπικών κοινωνιών όταν παράγουν με ιδίες δυνάμεις έργο διεθνούς βεληνεκούς. Επιπρόσθετα, έκρινε απαραίτητη την ύπαρξη φορέων που παρέχουν συμβουλευτικό ρόλο σε αυτοδίδακτους αξιόλογους καλλιτέχνες με ταυτόχρονη υποστήριξη του έργου τους, καθώς και καθοδήγηση μέσω του προγράμματος σπουδών τους.

Υπό το ίδιο πρίσμα, αμφότερα τα μέρη εξερεύνησαν δυνατότητες συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Διεθνούς Κέντρου Μελετών Ευξείνου Πόντου και του Ιόνιου Κέντρου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού, με έμφαση στην ανάδειξη του πολιτιστικού στοιχείου των χωρών της Μεσογείου, των Βαλκανίων και της Μαύρης Θάλασσας, και των καλλιτεχνών τους.
