ICBSS-Routes of Olive Tree Meeting in the framework of the Anna-Lindh Foundation Greek Network (Athens, 16-1-2020)

On Thursday 16 January 2020, Ms. Athina Korovesi, member of the ICBSS Team and Head of the Focal Point for Southern & Western Greece of the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network, had a meeting with Mr. Georgios Karabatos, Executive Director of the Cultural Organization “Routes of the Olive Tree”, at the ICBSS Hq, in Athens, in the framework of the collaboration of both member organizations within the Anna-Lindh Foundation.

Representing the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) as the elected “Focal Point for Southern & Western Greece of the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek Network”, Ms. Korovesi informed Mr. Karabatos about the actions taken by the Head, Coordinator and Co-Head of the Greek National Network of Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation during the period after the recent elections for the three Focal Points and Heads accordingly, held on September 2019.

At this point it is worth to mention the 1st National Meeting of the Members of the ALF Greek Network, that took place on 9-10 November 2019, in Thessaloniki-Greece, which was the first gathering of the member of organizations following the said elections.

During the meeting with the Executive Director of the “Routes of the Olive Tree”, Ms. Korovesi highlighted the importance of the active participation of all members at the events and actions of the ALF Greek Network, starting her mentions by the abovementioned 1^st National Meeting. In addition, she stressed the significance of the dissemination of the news and activities among all members of the Network and especially among the members based in Southern and Western Greece, via the official Newsletter of the Network.

From his side, Mr. Karabatos expressed his strong desire for the development of a meaningful interaction between the Network heads and members, focusing on its educational dimensions. More specifically, he referred to the supply of tools and “good practices” by the Network in an effort to the exchange of knowledge and know-how. As examples, the Executive Director mentioned the e-learning programs, seminars and the creation of an on-line library that can be used by the member organizations.

Furthermore, Mr. Karabatos informed Ms. Korovesi for the extension of the “Routes of the Olive Tree” network into the Balkan and the Black Sea countries, through the initiative “The Routes of the Olive Tree AGORA”.

Both parties exchanged views for developing collaboration in fields of common interest between the ICBSS and the “Routes of the Olive Tree”, such as by organizing joint actions aiming to the enhancement of the intercultural dialogue among the countries of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.

Given the international recognition of the “Routes of the Olive Tree”, as they were officially recognized by the UNESCO as “International Cultural Route of Intercultural Dialogue & Sustainable Development” in 2003 and as “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” by the Council of Europe in 2005, both Ms. Korovesi and Mr. Karabatos proposed ways of cooperation between the two organizations, especially in the field of culture, with a focus in the BSEC countries.

Συνάντηση κας Αθηνάς Κοροβέση, Επικεφαλής του Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Ιδρύματος Αnna Lindh, με τον κο Γεώργιο Καραμπάτο, Εκτελεστικό Διευθυντή του Πολιτιστικού Οργανισμού «Δρόμοι της Ελιάς»

Την Πέμπτη 16 Ιανουαρίου 2020, η κα Αθηνά Κοροβέση, μέλος της ομάδας του Διεθνούς Κέντρου Μελετών Ευξείνου Πόντου και Επικεφαλής του Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Ιδρύματος Αnna Lindh, συναντήθηκε με τον κο Γεώργιο Καραμπάτο, Εκτελεστικό Διευθυντή του Πολιτιστικού Οργανισμού "Δρόμοι της Ελιάς", στα γραφεία του ΔΙ.ΚΕ.Μ.Ε.Π. στην Αθήνα, στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας των δύο οργανισμών ως μέλη του Ιδρύματος Anna-Lindh.

Εκπροσωπώντας το Διεθνές Κέντρο Μελετών Ευξείνου Πόντου ως το εκλεγμένο Focal Point Νότου και Δύσης του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του Iδρύματος Anna Lindh, η κα Κοροβέση ενημέρωσε τον κο Καραμπάτο για τις δράσεις των επικεφαλής, συντονιστή και συν-επικεφαλής του Ελληνικού Εθνικού Δικτύου του Ευρω-Μεσογειακού Ιδρύματος Anna Lindh, για την περίοδο μετά τις πρόσφατες εκλογές των τριών Focal Points και Επικεφαλής του Δικτύου, οι οποίες πραγματοποιήθηκαν τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2019.

Σε αυτό το σημείο αξίζει να γίνει αναφορά στην 1η Εθνική Συνάντηση των Μελών του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του ALF που έλαβε χώρα στις 9-10 Νοεμβρίου 2019 στη Θεσσαλονίκη, και η οποία αποτέλεσε την πρώτη συνάντηση μεταξύ των οργανισμών-μελών μετά τις προαναφερθείσες  εκλογές.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης με τον Εκτελεστικό Διευθυντή των «Δρόμων της Ελιάς», η κα  Κοροβέση τόνισε τη σημασία της ενεργού συμμετοχής όλων των οργανώσεων-μελών στις εκδηλώσεις και τις δράσεις του Ελληνικού Δικτύου του ALF, ξεκινώντας τις αναφορές της από την προαναφερθείσα 1η Εθνική Συνάντηση. Επιπλέον επεσήμανε τη σημασία της διάδοσης των νέων και των δραστηριοτήτων μεταξύ όλων των μελών του Δικτύου και ιδιαίτερα μεταξύ των μελών που εδρεύουν στη Νότια και Δυτική Ελλάδα, μέσω του επίσημου Newsletter του Δικτύου.

Από την πλευρά του, ο κος Καραμπάτος εξέφρασε την έντονη επιθυμία του για την ανάπτυξη μιας ουσιαστικής αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ των επικεφαλής και των μελών του Δικτύου, εστιάζοντας στις εκπαιδευτικές της διαστάσεις. Ειδικότερα, αναφέρθηκε στην παροχή εργαλείων και «καλών πρακτικών» από το Δίκτυο σε μια προσπάθεια ανταλλαγής γνώσεων και τεχνογνωσίας, φέρνοντας ως παραδείγματα ηλεκτρονικά προγράμματα εκμάθησης, σεμινάρια και τη δημιουργία μιας ηλεκτρονικής βιβλιοθήκης η οποία θα μπορεί να χρησιμοποιείται από τους οργανισμούς-μέλη.

Επιπρόσθετα, ο κος Καραμπάτος ενημέρωσε την κα Κοροβέση για την επέκταση του δικτύου του οργανισμού στις Βαλκανικές χώρες και τις χώρες της Μαύρης Θάλασσας μέσω της πρωτοβουλίας «AGORA των Δρόμων της Ελιάς».

Και τα δύο μέρη αντάλλαξαν απόψεις για την ανάπτυξη της συνεργασίας σε πεδία κοινού ενδιαφέροντος μεταξύ του ΔΙ.ΚΕ.Μ.ΕΠ. και των «Δρόμων της Ελιάς», όπως η διοργάνωση κοινών δράσεων με στόχο την ενίσχυση του διαπολιτισμικού διαλόγου μεταξύ των χωρών της Μαύρης Θάλασσας και της Μεσογείου.

Δεδομένης της διεθνούς αναγνώρισης των «Δρόμων της Ελιάς», καθότι έχουν επίσημα αναγνωριστεί από την UNESCO ως "Διεθνής Πολιτιστική Διαδρομή Διαπολιτισμικού Διαλόγου & Αειφόρου Ανάπτυξης" το 2003 και ως "Πολιτιστική Διαδρομή του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης" από το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης το 2005, τόσο η κα Κοροβέση όσο και ο κος Καραμπάτος πρότειναν τρόπους συνεργασίας μεταξύ των δύο οργανισμών, ιδίως στον τομέα του πολιτισμού, με επίκεντρο τις χώρες του Οργανισμού για την Οικονομική Συνεργασία Ευξείνου Πόντου (ΟΣΕΠ).
