Participation of ICBSS Director General at the Conference “Black Sea: Opportunities and Challenges for Euro-Atlantic Security”

On 7 November 2024, the ICBSS Director General, Mr. Georgios MITRAKOS, participated at the Conference “Black Sea: Opportunities and Challenges for Euro-Atlantic Security”, organised by the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI) in cooperation with the Embassy of Romania to Italy, in Rome, Italy.
The event brought together senior diplomats, military officials, senior analysts, representatives of renowned think tanks and key private actors to explore the evolving geopolitical landscape of the Black Sea region. Discussions focused on the strategic importance of the region, current security challenges and the critical need for regional cooperation and broader Euro-Atlantic engagement.
On behalf of ICBSS, Director General, Mr. Georgios MITRAKOS, participated as speaker at the panel “New Strategies for Shaping a New Cooperation Agenda”, where he elaborated on how regional cooperation can support stability and development in the wider Black Sea region.
The ICBSS congratulates the organisers and participants for creating a platform for dialogue between academics, research institutions and policy makers from the Black Sea region and beyond, and especially thanks SIOI for the warm hospitality extended to the participants of the event.
This working visit is part of the ICBSS objectives to promote dialogue, share knowledge and build partnerships across regions to support sustainability and development in the wider Black Sea region and beyond.
