Athens | 1 July 2025
On 1 July 2025, the BRIDGE – BS Policy Workshop for a "2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” was organised successfully by the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), in cooperation with the Technology Centre of the Sea – CETMAR Foundation Spain (CETMAR), in Athens, Greece, under the framework of the EU Horizon 2020-funded project BRIDGE-BS.
The “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” is the product of a co-work process initiated under the BRIDGE-BS project, with the aim to propose a series of exploitation actions and measures to promote sustainable Blue Economy in the Black Sea based on the BRIDGE-BS results.
Within this context, the BRIDGE-BS Policy Workshop brought together project partners and Black Sea national and regional policy stakeholders to discuss and refine the draft “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea”, to ensure the effectiveness and impact of the proposed exploitation actions in relation to policy needs.
Opening the workshop, Ms. Georgia Chantzi, International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) presented the BRIDGE-BS project, focusing on its major results across the three main nodes, i.e. multistressors, innovation and engagement of policy and society. From the Technology Centre of the Sea – CETMAR Foundation, Ms. María Pérez, presented the draft Blue Roadmap and facilitated an interactive and collaborative process with the stakeholders, with the aim to review and fine-tune the proposed exploitation actions of the draft Blue Roadmap.
The final consolidated version of the “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” will be published in November 2025.
