Participation of ICBSS at the 7th BSEC - KAS Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States

On 3 – 5 July 2024, the ICBSS participated at the 7th Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States, organised by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung-Türkiye (KAS) in cooperation with the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
This year’s edition focused on “Enabling Sustainable Blue Economy in the Wider Black Sea Region” with the aim to delve into the concepts of Blue Economy and its importance for sustainable development in the wider Black Sea region, as well as, to highlight the interrelation between diplomacy, policymaking, and science, using good examples from the region and beyond.
On behalf of ICBSS, Research and Policy Development Manager, Ms. Georgia Chantzi, moderated the simulation session of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, focusing on ‘Supporting science – policy dialogue for Sustainable Blue Economy in the Black Sea’. During the simulation session and through a moderated exchange, participants were invited to propose practical ways to support science – policy interaction in the field of Blue Economy in the Black Sea region, as well as with other international partners.
The Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States is a capacity building event of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, held annually with the aim to enhance awareness and promote cooperation.
