Participation of ICBSS at MedCat Days 2024 “Tackling climate change in times of multiple crises in the Mediterranean. A challenge for the new European political cycle”
27 June 2024
On 25 – 26 June 2024, the ICBSS participated at MedCat Days 2024, organised by the Government of Catalonia and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), in Barcelona, Spain.
MedCat Days provide a space for meeting and dialogue, also for advocacy and visibility at the service of the actors of the wider region. With the title “Tackling climate change in times of multiple crises in the Mediterranean. A challenge for the new European political cycle”, the fifth edition of MedCat Days opened a broad debate on how to address climate change in the Mediterranean in the current context of crisis and how it overlaps with other challenges in the wider region.
On behalf of ICBSS, Research and Policy Development Manager, Ms. Georgia Chantzi, contributed with the experience of intra-regional cooperation in the wider Black Sea region, as panellist in the session on “Territorial Cooperation perspectives in the New Euro-Mediterranean Dynamics”, that discussed the importance of territorial and cross-border synergies to address key challenges.
This working visit is part of the ICBSS’ goals to foster dialogue, share knowledge and build partnerships across regions, towards supporting sustainability and development in the wider Black Sea area and beyond.
