Participation of ICBSS at the 8th Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States

On 10 – 12 December 2025, the ICBSS participated at the 8th Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States, organised by the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, at BSEC Hq. in Istanbul, Türkiye.
This year’s edition focused on “Building Tomorrow: Project Implementation for Sustainable Growth in the BSEC Region” with the aim to delve into the concept of science – policy interaction and its relevance and application in the policy and decision-making processes, as means to contribute to sustainability and development in the region.
On behalf of ICBSS, Research and Policy Development Manager, Ms. Georgia Chantzi, moderated the Youth Dialogue Session: Discussing the next BSEC Project, on the second day of the Workshop. The aim of the Session was to familiarize participants with the project development process and the concept of evidence-based policymaking to support a sustainable growth in the wider Black Sea region.
The session featured a short presentation and an interactive part during which the young diplomats broke into three groups to develop a project plan to support the implementation of the BSEC Economic Agenda (2023). At the end of the session, each group presented their project idea, followed by a brief discussion highlighting the process, challenges and lessons learned.
The Workshop for Young Diplomats from the BSEC Member States is a capacity building event of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, held annually with the aim to enhance awareness and promote cooperation.
