Within the framework of the Albanian Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), BSEC PERMIS organised the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of the Senior Officials (CSO) and the 43th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) of the BSEC Member States, that were held online during the period 28 and 30 June 2021. The ICBSS was represented at the Meetings by the ICBSS Director General, Mr. Georgios Mitrakos.
Mr. Georgios Mitrakos, presented the ICBSS's activities during the period of the Albanian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, at the second day of the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of the Senior Officials (CSO), on June 29th.
The 43rd Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) of the BSEC Member States was held online, on June 30th. Mr. Mitrakos delivered a statement about the Centre's activities during the period of the Albanian BSEC C-i-O, at the agenda item about the interaction between BSEC and Related Bodies.
The 43th BSEC CMFA Meeting ended with the concluding remarks by H.E. Ms. Olta Xhaçka, Minister for Europe & Foreign Affairs of Albania and Chairman-in-Office of BSEC, the transfer of the Chairmanship-in-Office to Georgia (which assumes the Chairmanship as of 1 July 2021, for a period of six months until 31 December 2021), as well as with the brief statement by the new Secretary General of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, H.E. Ambassador Lazăr Comănescu.
Following six highly successful years, the f. Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation BSEC, H.E. Ambassador Michael B. Christides, handled over the post to H.E. Ambassador Lazăr Comănescu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
