Today, we embark on our month-long cultural journey to the 13 BSEC Member States, dedicating our first post to Georgia, host country of the BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office for the second semester 2021.
So, we welcome the 5th BSEC Month of Culture with Tklapi (Georgian: ტყლაპი), a healthy dessert consisting of cooked fruit porridge or purée that is poured on a tray in a very thin layer and left to dry in the sun for a few days. It is typically prepared with fruits, such as wild plums, pears, mulberries, figs, apples, apricots or peaches. Afterward, Tklapi is rolled up and it can be consumed on its own or used in soups and stews.
