Denis Leonidovich Matsuev (Дени́с Леони́дович Мацу́ев; born June 11, 1975) is a Russian classical pianist. Since his triumph in the 1998 at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition, he has become a virtuoso in the grandest of Russian pianistic tradition and has quickly established himself as one of the most prominent pianists of his generation.
Denis Matsuev regularly appears with the most distinguished conductors on a stage today and performs with the world's best known orchestras.
In 2014, he was designated UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.
On 20 March 2020, Denis Matsuev livestreamed from the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. For an hour, Matsuev performed works by Tchaikovsky and jazz compositions.
