Fishing and aquaculture are among the hardest hit sectors since the COVID-19 outbreak, as demand for fisheries and seafood has been experiencing a dramatic downturn, due to preventative measures against the pandemic. The online conference will address the challenges of the fisheries sector related to the pandemic, such as disruptions in supply chains for fish and aquatic foods caused by disturbances of transportation, trade, and labour, and will discuss opportunities and next steps for the post-COVID-19 era.

The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), the Balkan and Black Sea Commission (BBSC) of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), and the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (HIT CERTH), co-organised a Webinar on "Transport in the Balkan and Black Sea region: Advancements in the port sector", on Tuesday 23 March 2021.

The REGIN project (Regions for Migrants and Refugees Integration) led by the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) and including 6 of its member regions - Azores, Campania, Catalonia, Murcia, Puglia and Skåne - aims to build a database and mapping of regional practices on integration.

The Albanian Chairmanship-in-Office got officially underway during the “Coordination Meeting of the BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, BSEC Related Bodies and the BSEC PERMIS” held online on 3 February 2021.
